A Letter To My Brother, Bryan
The first memories of my brother, looking back on things now, were of this smart, glasses wearing, bulldog that was as blue collar as a kid could be. Tough, strong, mentally and physically, measured and fair. He cares about everyone, and always protected me, quietly but forcefully. I was untouchable in his presence. I gained confidence because of him.
Stoic in his disposition, Bryan was, is, and likely will go down as the hardest worker I’ve ever known. A task being hard never deterred him. Hot gyms, no summers, immense pressure, it all was just another day in the office.
Bryan was larger than life growing up, casting a shadow that literally crushed me. But it took me time to realize that it was others not him that put the weight of the world on my shoulders. And, it was a privilege, an asset to live with someone so driven to achieve the things he wanted and willing to put in the work to achieve them.
Bryan has been my greatest champion over the last 10 years, being at every milestone in my life. Being the best brother I could ask for. Still pushing me, still inspiring me, still teaching me how to do what it takes, to do it with tenacity, and to do it with an appreciation for the talents we’re blessed with and the example we are called to take care of and enhance.
I love you Big Time, and Happy 32nd Birthday!
